Proposed curbs to non-EU immigration

The government has begun a 12 week consultation on immigration to the UK with the aim of 'lowering net migration to 1990 levels'.  To achieve this, among other proposals, the government will impose a cap on the number of non-EU migrants entering Britain under Tiers 1 and 2 of the present system.  The resulting changes to the immigration system will fundamentally alter the way in which non-EU workers are permitted to come and work in the UK. Read more...
